Worth the cost!
I maintain a number of cycles for myself and others when asked. Previously, I have used other manufacturers' wire cutting tools but as they were showing signs of wear, it was time to get some new ones! The main question for potential purchasers is whether the price tag is warranted. Park Tools may seem expensive (and I only own two or three) but you do get what you pay for; my Park Tools branded stuff always looks and feels well made.I used these cutters for the first time replacing gear cables on a mountain bike. They made the job a breeze - the cable cuts were clean, neat, tidy. The cables showed no sign of flattening or unravelling; this made threading the new cables through their outer casings a doddle! Cutting the outers to size produced similarly good results - there was a slight amount of flattening but this was easily fixed with a small screwdriver. Importantly for good shifting of gears, the ends of the outer casings were beautifully square. So, is around £30 too much for this tool? I think not, I think they will see some considerable use with me and it looks as if they are built to last - the cutter jaws are even adjustable to take account of wear which is a nice touch. The important thing when cutting cables for bikes is that the cut is neat with no fraying and minimal flattening these cutters meet that standard. Mangled cables and outers make the job harder and can make adjusting gears and gear changes a hit and miss affair - in that context £30 is much, much cheaper than a visit to the bike shop.My summary would be that with all tasks, the right tools really move things along and these cutters make cable changes easier.Highly recommended.

Park Tool quality, as always.
It's a Park Tool tool, so excellent and indestructible. Always worth paying the extra money for the right tool.

The quality you'd expected from Park Tool
Expensive, but typical Park Tool quality, clean cuts of cables and cable outers every time, in addition to need and effective crimping of cable ends. Buy cheap, buy twice, I am confident this will significantly outlast cheaper cutters that I have purchased in the past.

Worth the price
It keeps happening. I keep buying cheaper tools, they wear out super quickly, or break, and I spend more money on a Park Tool piece and it's just perfect, and I should've bought it at the start and saved some money and frustration. It's a cliché guys but buy cheap, buy twice. This stuff is really robust, they are expensive but everything I've bought from them has been super robust and perfect for the job. Some tools can be bought cheaply and it won't matter (like spanners). Some stuff though, like bottom bracket wrenches, allen keys, snips like these, stuff where softer metal can round off and become cumbersome or damage your bike... Do yourself a favour and just buy the expensive one right at the start.

Good quality but expensive
Works as expected

Forever cutters (almost)
But if you're looking at them, you already knew that. I have tried cheaper ones in the past and they always disappoint

Great bit of kit
Makes such a difference having a well made peice of kit for a specific job. Used to have other wire cutters which kept fraying the end of the cables but these are very clean. Pricey but worth every penny. Should last a while too
